Natural Building Solutions is the construction division of Back to Earth (SW) Ltd. The company was established in mid-Devon by Chris Brookman, a chemistry graduate drawn initially to building with cob because of its sculptural and tactile qualities.
Within a couple of years Back to Earth's reputation for quality construction projects meant it was much in demand for both traditional restoration work and new builds, with cob and lime the primary building materials.

Three years ago Chris began to test out some of the new 'green' building materials coming onto the market. Only a few of them proved both practical and appropriate to modern construction requirements, and these have been regularly used in projects undertaken by the company ever since.
Back to Earth has now also become a major supplier of these new materials to others in the building trade as well an information source for architects, developers and planners interested in their use.
The skills, understanding, tools and techniques acquired by Chris Brookman and his team over the years makes Natural Building Solutions one of the foremost practitioners of eco-construction and traditional cob building in the South West.
